Drew & Emma

We are Drew Davies and Emma Jarvis, Managing Directors of South West Play. Together, we have gained over 15 years’ experience in the Playground Industry, dedicated to the design and build of bespoke rope play equipment.

We love what we do; working with industry professionals at every stage of production to bring one-of-a-kind rope and net based equipment to theme parks, schools and residential customers around the world.

Where We Started

South West Play was founded by Drew’s father in the 90’s as a fishing equipment supplier based in the village of Newlyn, Cornwall. In 2008 we diversified to become a manufacturer of rope and net based Play Equipment. Today, we are first and foremost a family run business run by Drew & Emma, who are proud to create, design and manufacture bespoke, handmade play equipment for commercial and residential use.

We have the knowledge, expertise, and skills required to help you meet your own business objectives and provide an exciting play area for safe, functional use.

Award Winning Business

On Saturday 15 July 2017, over 350 family business leaders and entrepreneurs descended upon London’s iconic Wembley Stadium for The National Family Business Awards (formally known as the Red Ribbon Awards) – celebrating the achievements of Britain’s finest family-run businesses. Our family firm, South West Play were crowned winner of the South West Best Small Business Award.

For the last 16 years Prestige Awards have been running national and international awards under the Corporate Live Wire and LTG business platforms, in 2018 we introduced our regional awards to recognise smaller, independent businesses that are extremely successful and hard working on a local level. Continuing our 2020/21 success, we’re delighted to be awarded Play Equipment Manufacturers of the Year 22/23.

Royal Visits

During his trip to Mousehole village and fishing port in Cornwall, we were honoured with a visit from King Charles in 2022, he visited a few businesses in Newlyn, and we were overjoyed to be chosen as one of them. We took the opportunity to walk him through our premises where he met and conversed with our valued team.
